NAMMOS Blu

Hi, I’m Blu. I embody the vibrant island life at its finest and most talkative - when the mood strikes me-. As a NAMMOS Village native and fashion expert, I have great opinions and it’s about time I had a page to share them.

My
story
I’m Blu, the Hyacinth macaw parrot who’s practically the mascot of Nammos Village—though if you prefer, think of me as a rock star with feathers that are even more fabulous than any rock star! If you haven’t met me yet, don’t worry—you’re about to get a front-row seat to the Blu extravaganza! Let’s get right into it: I’ve been dazzling Nammos Village with my charm since I moved here. And guess what? I even celebrate my birthday every year on August 29th. Mark your calendars, I don't appreciate being forgotten. But don’t think of it as just another birthday; it’s a full-blown celebration! Every year, I have a party where they really pull out all the stops. Friends come, cameras flash, and of course, there’s a birthday cake—because what’s a party without one?
In the summer, you’ll find me living the high life in Mykonos—where else? During the winter, I jet-set off to Athens for some well-deserved R&R. That’s right, I’m not just a pretty beak; I’ve got some serious travel cred. Now, let’s talk about my entourage. I’ve got two amazing caretakers who shower me with love and attention. It might be unusual for a bird of my stature to show affection, but let’s keep this between us—I do love them too! When the cameras aren’t rolling, I’m actually quite the cuddle-bug. I greet them every morning with a dazzling dance routine and vocal performance. Trust me, it’s a full-on concert, and they’re my biggest fans.
I kick off the day with a fabulous dance and vocal show, followed by a gourmet breakfast featuring my top picks—mangos, grapes, and Brazilian nuts. Then, I play with my toys and hit the gym for some serious fitness training. I take a power nap during lunch (gotta keep this bod in top shape), and in the afternoon, I go on a little adventure around the village—just a casual stroll to catch up on any action or juicy gossip. And yes, I am rare, and I do fly. No, it’s not just a clever marketing trick—I’m fully capable of soaring through the skies with grace and style. As for my health, my vet can’t stop raving about me. She says I’m quite the catch for my species, and with the stellar care I’m receiving, I could live up to 100 years. Imagine that—100 years of being fabulous!
I even attended a seminar with other macaws, and let me tell you, they were blown away by my ability to communicate with humans and how social I am. Guests come from far and wide just to meet me. I practically have all the reasons to boost my ego! And yes, I do have my own social media accounts, naturally. Whether I’m dazzling the crowds in Mykonos, relaxing in Athens, or just hanging out with my fabulous caretakers, life is pretty spectacular when you’re Blu.
Who’s your king?
Fashion gatekeeping ain’t easy but someone’s gotta do it. It’s a particular pleasure of mine to go window-shopping, letting the brands know which new collections I approve of. Visitors are not immune to my sharp criticism either. You’d better wear some blue...
Nammos Village comes with many perks, and one is meeting me. You’ll most likely find me relaxing on the arm of my favourite human, but if you can tempt me, I might change seats and pick on you for a while. Be prepared to indulge me.
In the jungle, all the species are interconnected, resulting in us being one happy family. But you can’t always get along with everyone, especially the peacocks that roam around showing off their fancy outfits. We get it, you are pretty, but what about your sense of humour?
My ethnicity is South American. As a Hyacinth macaw parrot, I represent my kind most nobly, and yet I feel Greek. Mykonos is my - not so - humble abode and my plume matches the deep blue shades around. I guess I’m a natural at being an islander.
